How You Can Help
There are many, many ways that you can help someone right now.
DONATE
The quickest way for you to take action and help someone right now is to donate money. A gift of $25 provides food and shelter for someone for one day. A gift of $100 provides shelter for someone for an entire week. Whatever amount you choose to give, there are a variety of ways to make your donation. Click here to learn more.
VOLUNTEER
Volunteers are needed on an ongoing basis and you can make a difference in the many ways. We need volunteers to work in the clothing closet, food pantry, kitchen, shelter and office. We also need volunteers with special skills. Click to our online volunteer form, or click here to visit our main Volunteer page.
DONATE GOODS
There are many items you can donate that can help someone right now. Food and clothing donations are the most obvious items that can help but there are many other types of goods we accept that make a difference. You can even donate furniture. Click here to learn more.
OTHER OPTIONS
There are many creative options you can choose from to help someone right now. You can shop at over 650 select stores and a percentage of the purchase price will be donated to Urban Ministries of Durham. You can participate in several fundraising events throughout the year. You can donate vehicles and other goods to be sold via eBay to benefit UMD Click here to learn more.
However you choose to help, you will make a difference and we will be grateful. You’ll be helping to provide a safety net for those who have had none. It is our sincerest wish that you experience the blessings of giving by reaching out to the less fortunate and offering your helping hand.
