McKinney & UMD Check in at Foursquare
News (Archived)
Where will you check in tonight?
At a nice hotel in the area? Or, maybe for a reservation at one of the many great dining establishments downtown? Or maybe you'll hit the gym or meet a few friends for coffee.
Wherever you may be checking in, think about the men, women, and children lining up to "check in" to our shelter....or maybe they haven't even made it this far.
Got your attention? We hope so.
Urban Ministries of Durham and McKinney are checking in at Foursquare to raise awareness of the issues facing the homeless and those at risk in our area.
This latest initiative is a part of a multi-faceted social networking campaign made possible by Durham's own McKinney ad agency. Location-based mobile social networking is just one more way to reach people where they live, work, and play and hopefully get them to stop and think, if only for a moment, "What if this happened to me? Where would I turn for help? What would I do?"
New to Foursquare? Not sure how this works?
